Melissa is our dental hygienist from the USA, qualified in 2013 from Eastman dental institute in London obtaining a diploma in dental hygiene.
After spending her childhood in the southern state of Louisiana USA, relocated with family to the north western state of Washington, achieving a high school diploma with honours and an associate arts degree in general nursing. After moving to the UK, due to her passion and special interest in dentistry and oral health, Melissa decided to attend university once more and pursue her dream of becoming a dental hygienist.
Melissa is passionate about every aspect of dental hygiene from her clinical work through to the personal interactions with her patients. Key to her successful treatment of patients Is building a rapport with them to ensure that they both work together as a team maintaining good oral health in the clinic and at home. Melissa has had a variety of experience treating patients with periodontal disease, anxiety/dental fear, and special needs. Melissa is qualified to do periodontal therapy, full mouth debridement’s, soft tissue examinations, whitening treatments, dental radiographs, impressions and dietary advice.
Her empathy for others and meticulous nature ensures patients receive a gentle but thorough hygiene experience. She takes pride in providing treatment of the highest quality for each and every patient, ensuring their visit is a positive and pleasant experience. Keeping up to date with Continued professional development ensures Melissa is well versed and up to date with the many innovations in this growing profession.
Outside of the dental surgery, Melissa enjoys going to the gym, spending time with family and friends, watching theatre shows and dining out.
